On February 29th, 2008 MOSCOW SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA presents its concert in the Grand Hall of Moscow Conservatory. Charles Ansbacher, Chief Guest Conductor of the Orchestra, will conduct this concert. The program consists of such amazing and famous compositions as Concerto No 12 for piano and Orchestra by Mozart, Variations on a Theme by Haydn for Orchestra and Symphony No 2 by Brahms. The soloist is brilliant pianist and composer Nikita Mndoyants, one of the most powerful talents of his generation.

MOSCOW SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA (Chief conductor and Artist director Vladimir Ziva) – today is one of the leading capital orchestras. The Moscow Symphony Orchestra is the first independent orchestra in Russia established with private resources and free of state support, was founded in 1989. Since the very beginning the orchestra became an active participant of the Moscow musical life, it has performed under famous Russian and foreign conductors and with many outstanding soloists. Since 1996 under the general sponsorship of “Nestle” the MSO performs annually a series of concerts in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. The main achievement during the past years is that the MSO has acquired its own audience due to the high professionalism and a very interesting repertoire.

 

Nikita Mndoyants (born on 31 March, 1989) extremely talented pianist and outstanding composer. He gives concerts in Moscow, other Russian cities and abroad, for example Portugal, China, Lithuania, Switzerland, Spain and so on. He is invited to take part in many international festivals including Piano Festival of Saint-Petersburg, “Moscow Autumn” and many others. Nikita is winner of many competitions such as 4th International Youth Competition “Perfomer-Composer” dedicated to the memory of Anton Rubinstein in St.-Petersburg (first prize), The VII International Paderewski Piano Competition in Poland (First prize and special prize for the best semi-final recital) and many others.

 

Charles Ansbacher (USA) holds titled positions with orchestras in Boston, Moscow, Sarajevo, and Bishkek. His primary relationship is with The Boston Landmarks Orchestra, which he created in 2000 as a gift to his home community. Among recently highly acclaimed performances, he conducted Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, the same work he performed in Belgrade with American and Russian soloists, as the first American to appear on stage after the Kosovo-related NATO bombing of Serbia. In the mid-nineties, while residing four years in Vienna, Ansbacher led multiple performances of important Austrian ensembles, including the Vienna State Opera, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Innsbruck Philharmonic and the Vienna Chamber Opera. He has conducted major orchestras in Canada, Israel, South Africa, Italy, Ecuador, Russia, South Korea, and of course the US. Building upon multiple concerts with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra in that city's Tchaikovsky Hall, as well as the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Ansbacher has conducted the MSO on CD’s.
